Welcome to the website of the fifth Code-based Cryptography Workshop that will take place in La Laguna (Tenerife, Canary Islands). The goal of this three-day workshop is to introduce the field to everyone interested and to discuss recent developments.
Code-based Cryptography
The security of nearly all public-key cryptosystems used in practice - the ones that do not requiere an initial exchange of secrets - are based just on two problems: the hardness of factoring or the presumed intractability of the discrete logarithm problem. But all these classical number theory problems (presumably hard) will be rendered useless by the advent of quantum computers.
There are still some public-key systems that still resist to quantum computers attack but we need more experience with these proposals to make them a real alternative to the existing schemes.
This workshop will be devoted to Code-based Cryptography, which is a powerful and promising alternative for post-quantum cryptography. Indeed, together with lattice-based cryptography, multivariate cryptography and hash-based cryptography are the principal available techniques for post-quantum cryptography.
Registration deadline: May 10th
Former Editions: CBC 2013, CBC 2011
The workshop will be held at the Faculty of Science - Section of Mathematics and Physics - of the University of La Laguna located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Address of the Conference Venue: C/Astrofísico Francisco Sánchez s/n. See the map for details.
