IMFAHE Foundation (International Mentoring Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education), based in Boston, Massachusetts, together with Universidad de La Laguna (ULL) and 10 other European universities, have created a unique network of talent and innovation across 5 continents. This network, which includes highly qualified professionals working front-line international organizations, such as Harvard, Princeton or Google, among many others, and top students and professors from the 11 partner universities, aims to encourage global collaborations, attract international funding, teach online masterclasses to discuss in real time the international trends in science, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as promote the excellence training of university students through international advice, international conferences or international scholarships to train abroad.
Universidad de La Laguna will host next March 19 the V International Conference IMFAHE-ULL 2019, which will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, Foundations that promote innovation, Vice-chancellors and Deans of different European universities, professionals working in organizations of international prestige and students of IMFAHE’s talent network.
IMFAHE Foundation and Universidad de La Laguna share the common goal of promoting initiatives of multidisciplinary academic and professional collaborations since 2015. From that moment on, 130 ULL students have directly benefited from the International Mentor Program (IMP) and several hundred students have been part of other initiatives developed by IMFAHE such as webinars, online master classes and lectures given at ULL.
In the 15/16 academic year, the largest number of students of the International Mentor Program (IMP) came from Universidad de La Laguna. Out a total of 54 IMP students, 9 ULL students took part in IMP-Biomedicine, 13 in IMP-Philology and 16 in IMP-Engineering.
In the course 16/17 28 students participated in IMP, of 12 IN IMP-Biomedicine program, 7 in IMP-Economics and 9 in IMP-Engineering.
In the course 17/18 a total of 20 ULL students attended IMP, of which 12 took part in IMP-Biomedicine and 8 in IMP-Engineering.
28 ULL students are currently enrolled in IMP, of which 11 participate in IMP-Biomedicine, 6 in IMP-Behavioral sciences and 11 in IMP-engineering.
In addition, Universidad de La Laguna, through IMFAHE, has awarded a total of 12 scholarships of excellence so participants of the IMP program could train abroad, in centres of international excellence.
