Types of proposals welcomed

  • Research presentations or presentations on innovative approaches to pedagogy (20 minutes followed by a 5-10- minute Q&A with the audience)
  • Roundtable discussions on topics of major interest (3-4 presenters, 45 minutes plus 15-minute Q&A with audience)
  • Workshops leading participants through an activity (or set of activities) on a topic significant in our fields of research and/or teaching (1 hour including interactive with audience)

Due Date and Proposal Specifications

Proposals should be in one of the official languages of the conference (English or Spanish),  should be between 250 and 300 words (plus references), and are due by 3 March, 2023. Please mark clearly in subject line, “Abstract PRISEAL5”. The abstract should be in either .doc, .docx, or .rtf format, using 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins and a 12 pt font. Each abstract should clearly indicate the title of the talk, and may include references. The body of the email message should also contain the following information:

  • Names of presenters and email contact information for the corresponding author
  • Your institutional titles and affiliations
  • Brief bios of presenters (50 words)
  • The title of your proposal (in the case of roundtable proposals, titles of all presentations)
  • The status of presenters as students, faculty members, or independent scholars
  • Whether you plan to present in person or remotely


Proposal submission deadline: March 3, 2023

Notification of acceptance: March 17, 2023

Registration deadline: July 1, 2023

Cancellation deadline: July 1, 2023. Total to be refunded: 100% of the registration fee
